Electrifying Sadness
Mikosch Loutsenko und partners-in-crime

In challenging and intensifying times, times of exacerbating climate change and mass extinction, geopolitical wars and the rise of authoritarian regimes, emotions arise. On one hand: overwhelm, disturbance and and a feeling of futility. On the other hand, this situation encourages people to tackle change and embrace responsibility in social movements.
In Electrifying Sadness, we move around a weeping willow on stage, which serves us as an archive of sorrow and resilience. Through letters that sometimes tell of exhaustion and sometimes confidence, and through lamentations and movements, we explore the weeping willow's many branches. A tense web of visible and audible emotions fills the space between the stage and the audience. We explore the connection between hidden and shared sentiments of grief, disruption and unrest. We ask ourselves what kind of creative, political and transformative potential is stored in our feelings?
